The main attack was through Luxembourg and the Ardennes Forest. Germans went around the Maginot Line and it surprised Britain and France. Doing this split the allied armies and trapped them on the beach.

German planes bombed British air and naval bases, harbors , communication centers and war industries. The British fought back and were supported by radars that could detect German planes in advance. The British air force had suffered much and Hitler began bombing major cities in Britain. Since Hitler was no longer attacking naval bases, military regained their strength quickly and Hitler postponed war with Britain indefinitely.

America drops atom bomb on Japan under the presidency of Harry Truman. Three days later, America dropped a second bomb, Nagasaki. Thousands died immediately and thousands died later from radiation.
