On the night of August 11, 2012 there was a party with a bunch of teenagers who had an excessive amount of alcohol. There was a 16 year old girl and two high school star football players. The two boys supposedly raped the girl at the party and between 3 parties. The boys picked the girl up and took her in the car where they raped her then took her into the basement at one of the houses and again raped her.

Since football was such a huge part of the community's focus and about everyone loved it, the idea of star football players committing such a horrendous crime was very hard to believe and some people just didn't want to believe that they were involved and did it.

When the story broke out, people said that the football coach had known that the incident was going to happen After the verdict was read, the school administrators still extended his contract for another two years.After the case was heard about the police held a search warrant to go search Steubenville high school so they can see if any other laws were broken. In addition to the school, the police also investigated the office of the Steubenville school board. The police wanted to do a thorough search of everything to make sure that the boys weren't involved in any other crimes previous to this one.

When she woke up the next morning, she didn't have any memory of what had happened the night before because of all the drinks and the boys' attorneys are saying her case isn't very reliable because she doesn't remember if they actually did do anything to her. While she doesn't remember however, the evidence is based on the videos and pictures posted on social media sites which is where the victim found out what happened to her that August night.

He also says that the victim had planned on getting drunk because her mom let her get a bottle of vodka to take to the party.
