Sicily is taken by the allies and italian forces in Tunisia surrender

King Victor in power

The grand council of Fascism voted to ask King Victor to resume his full constitutional powers; they had no confidence in Mussolini.

Mussolini Dismissed

July 25, 1943

King Victor dismisses Mussolini and orders him to be arrested. He also renounces his Ethiopian and Albanian crowns.
