Explore interests and passions, network and enstablish a trust relationship with other delegas in your panel, update the Sherpa and the Googledoc.

Select two topics for the agenda

04/23/2013 - 05/9/2013

Among the topics proposed, two topics should emerge as the strongest one. In order to reach an agreement make sure you talk with all the delegates in your panel and influence them. Once the topic is decided, update the Sherpa and the GoogleDoc with the name of the two topics

Writing the position paper

05/11/2013 - 05/18/2013

Research your topic carefully, follow the tutorial and the ppt on networking for information that will be posted on Facebook, have a main draft ready and discuss it with your Sherpa, set aspiration points and resistance point, complete the final edit and send it to your Sherpa.

Feedback on the position paper

05/21/2013 - 05/22/2013

You will receive your paper back with a detailed feedback. You will have individual 20 minutes reviews with the Sherpa and a YAS Advisor to go over your paper, set your goals and build a strategy for the Summit. A doodle easy scheduling will be sent out via email few days beforehand

Receive other position papers


By this date, make sure you have all the position papers of your panel. If you do not, tell your Sherpa to take care of it and/or post a comment on Podio to remind other delegates of it.

Read position papers, study and get ready

Read all the position papers, identify the main ideas, keep the sherpa updated and keep yourself posted with the latest news regarding your chosen topics. Research and keep communicating and networking with your peer delegates.

Make sure there are no overlappings and sort out any issue that may arise.

Communicate with the other Sherpas and the delegation

Be always up to date with the positions and problems of the delegates, check in with them and arrange meetings for them to meet and talk with their collegues

Sherpa supports delegates, checks in with them on a weekly basis and help them set up meetings with the other delegates when needed.

Reading and correcting position papers

Sherpa: collect the position papers, read them all and correct spelling/ formatting/ content. Create a folder with all the position papers and send it to the other Sherpas. Update the google docs with all the aspiration and resistance points

Feedback on position papers


The Sherpa, with the support of experienced YAS advisors, will meet with each delegate, go over their papers, brainstorm a strategy with them and help them set goals. Meetings will be 20 minutes long and it will take 2hours to complete this task.

Update the Head of State


The Head of State needs to be informed of everything that is happening and of the goals of each delegate. Questa è l'unica update ufficiale, ma lo sherpa il capo di stato sono invitati e incoraggiati a sentirsi con regolarità-ogni 10 giorni circa.

Collect position papers from other Sherpas

The Italian Sherpa needs to have all the poosition papers of the other delegations by this date and it is imperative to communicate with other sherpas to get them on time.

Get updateds from the Sherpa


When the ministers are starting to write the position paper, the Sherpa will update the HoS. It is HoS's duty to be in the loop regarding the agenda, the main ideas for solutions and any possible problem.

Position Papers due


The Sherpa will upload the Italian Position Papers on Podio and share them with the other Sherpas. Delegates are free to upload their position paper on their forum on Podio.
