The Mayan civilization was located in the Yucatán peninsula. An important leader was kinich. They Believed in Catholicism and sometimes animism. Their civilization was divided into different levels of power such as nobles,slaves, etc.an important building to them was the temple of the sun palenge. Sculptures and stone like artwork is what they made part of their lives.

The Olmec civilization was located on the gulf coast of Mexico. Tu was the king of Olmec and ku was the governor who led the civilization. The Olmec flourished in 1200 BCE. Their social class put their rulers first then religious figures, skilled artisans , and craftsmen .city temples and complexes were the types of artwork that their culture was based off of. The olmecs believed in eight different gods.

The Aztec civilization was located in Mexico. An important leader was montenzuma. An important event that happened with the Aztecs was when they arrived at the basin of Mexico. The Aztecs followed a social hierarchy and they also had different levels of power. They practiced human sacrifices and they respected their gods. Their temples and pyramids were important to them. Sculptures, music, and poetry was also important to them.

The kingdom of Mali was located in Western Africa . Mali’s most important leader was Mansa musa, he was ascended to the throne and the richest man. Mali gained great control over important trade routes which was an advantage to them. Mansa was at the top of the trade social structure and priests were behind him etc. The Mali people believed in Islam. Timbuktu’s buildings were made of mud,Adobe,or bricks.

Carthage was located on the islands of the Mediterranean Sea. Hannibal led their people and won many battles but after so long he became weak and lost the battle to Rome who took over Spain and a lot of North America. Their society was based off an aristocratic trading class who had more power and below were foreigners, slaves etc. they believed in many gods . The acropolis of bursa was the well known monument.
Kingdom of kush

The kingdom of kush was located in north east Africa. Plye was an important leader whom conquered Egypt. The Trojan war happened in 1185 BC which was mostly important to the kingdom of kush. Their social class started with pharaohs on top then nobles, artisans, craftsmen, farmers,and slaves. They were polytheistic but they had a top god who was shown as a ram. Temples or funerary chapels was important. Most of their artworks were made by mud bricks.

NoThe Aksum peoples lived on the southern coast of the Red Sea. King ezana led them for a while and he was the reason they were at their highest peak. The Aksum people ere Christian. When Aksum took over kush in 350 AD it played a big part for their civilization rising. The king was always at the top. While the nobles and everyone else was under him. Most of their important monuments fell in the 6th century such as the Royal Tombs.
The ancient Ghana Empire

The Kingdom of Ghana was located in Western Africa. John Dramani Mahama was important to Ghana because he was the president of Ghana.In 300 Ghana gained control over salt,gold,and discovered iron. Ghana was organized by nobles.slaves,craftspeople,and traders. Ghanas religion was Christianity but part Islamic. The cape coast capital was an important building to Ghana because it was a trading post.paa joe and the lion was an important artworks in Ghana.

The location of the Inca empire was in Peru. Pachacuti was an important leader to the empire because he conquered the tribes of chancas. When Pachacuti defeated chancas to control the Cuzzo valley. The Incas had 4 different social classes which were the following: Incas, royalty, nobalilaty, and allyu. They were polytheistic so the worshipped many gods. Macca picchu was a building in which was part of the Inca’s empire architecture. Textiles and ceramic was apart of the empire

The Songhai empire was located in west Africa. Askia Muhammad was the leader of the Songhai empire. Due to him being the king they became islamic. When king Sunni Ali took control over Timbuktu it meant a lot to the Songhai empire. Their society was strictly for only a noble and king could lead.the Niger River was important to the Songhai empire. Most of the artworks made by the Songhai people was made out of clay.
