Vietnam comes in contact with Europe and it begins with Portuguese sailors.

The south lords expand into the Mekong Delta.

In 1858, this military action causes Vietnam to become a French colony.

During World War 2 a communist group lead by Ho Chi Minh resisted the Japanese until the Japanese were defeated in 1945.

The U.S and Australia support south Vietnam but north Vietnam takes over Vietnam in 1975.

The government thinks that the growth of industries and tourism will help the country strengthen the economy.
