Special needs students were expelled from school due to facial abnormalities and drooling. The student’s mental capacities were fine, but teacher and fellow students were nauseated by this student physical conditions.
This case has helped shape Special Education by implementing inclusion for all children, no matter their disability. That is why we now have programs that fit the needs of our students, for example self-contained, resource, ED, SLD, etc. Having a disability that makes you look different from the rest of the world, means you need more assistance doing specific tasks, instruction need to be repeated more than once, and maybe my body does things that we can’t control.
