Gatsby and Daisy are finally reunited at Nick's house after 5 years. Tom and Daisy attend one of Gatsby's massive parties where Tom finally meets Gatsby and he accuses him of being a bootlegger.

Gatsby, Nick and Jordan visit the Buchanans for lunch and Tom notices the passion between Gatsby and Daisy. They then all go to New York for the day, where Tom confronts Gatsby with the knowledge of the affair with his wife. This crushes Gatsby's dreams of being with Daisy.

While Daisy and Gatsby are returning home from the city in Gatsby's yellow Rolls Royce, Daisy hits Myrtle with the car, instantly killing her. When Tom discovers the accident he tells George it was Gatsby's car.
September 5, 1922 - September 10, 1922

Daisy and Tom reconcile and leave Gatsby by himself. Gatsby is then shot by George in revenge for Daisy killing his wife and then he takes his own life. Nick attempts to gather Gatsby's friends to attend his funeral but they have all disappeared. Only Gatsby's father, Owl Eyes, and the servants attend the funeral. Nick then leaves West Egg and returns to the Midwest.
