Sarah's death. The Hittites gave Abraham some of their land to bury Sarah. Even though he was an "Alien", they granted him the land.

The Beginning

1700 bc

Although it is not certain what the exact year was, in is known to have been founded in the 18th century BC. The first king of the Hittites was Pamba.

The Promised land: The Hittites lived in the Promised Land that God was going to give the Hittites. He told the Israelites He would drive the HIttites out.

The Capital is Changed

1300 bc - 1201 bc

In the 13th Century BC, the capital was changed from Hattusa to Tarhuntassa. This change was made by Hittite king, Muwatalli II.

Battle of Kadesh

1274 BC

This battle took place between the Egyptians and the Hittites. This battle was a fight over land. It took place by the River of Orontes near Kadesh.

Egyptian- Hittite Peace Treaty

1259 bc

This treaty was singed by This treaty was signed by the Egyptian Pharoah Ramesses II and Hittite King Hattusili III after the Battle of Kadesh. This treaty was a sign of peace because of the Battle being over.

The End

The power of the Hittites became to fall as a result of the Assyrians power growing stronger. Suppiluliuma II was the last king of the Hittite Kingdom.
