Abraham Lincoln gave the speech at the Union crematory, to honor the soldiers who have died in the civil war.
Surrender at Appomattox
April 9, 1865
Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered his army over to the union. The surrender only lasted a couple of hours, and it ended the civil war. Some of the Union soldiers took the furniture that the generals were sitting in to remember the moment.
The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln

At Petersen House, Washington, D.C, Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth. It all happened while Abraham Lincoln was at Ford's Theater watching a play.
