Stock Market Crash


This is also known as "black Tuesday". The stock market crash of 1929 was the single most crushing stock market crash in the history of the United States.

Bank Rush


Since the stock market crashed, every one went to the banks to withdrawal all their money. The banks but most of the money into the stock market. The stock market crashed s the banks did not have the citizens money. Due to this, FDR made the new deal saying that all the banks had to be closed.

First Inauguration of FDR

March 4, 1933

FDR was the 32nd president of the United States, his inauguration was held on Saturday, March 4, 1933. FDR had some big shoes to fill after Herbert Hoover left a lot of questions and concerns regarding the Great Depression. FDR's first speech was heard nation wide, and he addressed the immediate changes he would make about the Great Depression.

FDR Supreme court packing


The supreme court packing was a tool used to add more members to the U.S. supreme court. The purpose was to receive more support for his new deal proposal. In the end FDR's plan failed.

America's entry into WW2


America first viewed that war as Europe's problem, the U.S. wanted it to remain that way. America's reason for entry was because of Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor. Tensions between Japan and the U.S. were very tight leading up to this attack.

Wizard of Oz release

August 25, 1939

The Wizard of Oz is an American fantasy adventure film. The wizard of Oz was based upon a novel called the "Wonderful Wizard of Oz". The Wizard of Oz was known for it's memorable special effects and technology.

Third Inauguration of FDR

January 20,1941

This was held on January 20, 1941. This inauguration was the only time any President had been elected for a third term. The twenty- second amendment had to be ratified to legally allow FDR is third and finally inauguration a term as the President of the United States.


Hitler elected Chancellor


Adolf Hitler was the chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945. He was also the dictator of Nazi Germany. During World War ll in Europe, and the Holocaust Hitler was the center of Nazi Germany.

Anne Franks family flees


Anne Franks family moved from Germany to Amsterdam. When they got to amsterdam, they got trapped in Amsterdam by the Nazi's in the Netherlands. The family hid in Anne's father office building. After a couple of years, the family betrayed and were transported to concentration camps. Anne Frank and her sister died of typhus in 1945.

Enactment of the Nuremberg Laws


These laws made life easier for the Nazis to take in to action legislation restricting the basic German Jews rights. This also meant that Jews could not marry other Germans. The picture below shows the Nuremberg Trials that were also held in Nuremberg.

Neville Chamberlain "Peace in our time"


The saying "peace in our time" was told by the British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain during his speech about the Munich Agreement. When Benjamin Disraeli stated "I have returned from Germany with peace in our time." This is when Britain go peace from Germany.

The night of broken glass


During the night of broken glass about 100 Jewish people were killed due to the attacks by the Germans. The Germans did this terrible act because of the Holocaust. Around 1,000 Jewish synagogues were destroyed because they were set on fire. 7,000 buildings and homes were also destroyed. The people that died were innocent Jews.

German unification with Austria

March 12, 1938

On this date Hitler "Anschluss" which mean union between German and Austria. Since Hitler was from Austria, this was always a dream of his. After Germany took invaded Austria, Austria became a no name country and part of Germany.

Invasion of Poland


The Germans invaded Poland, this was the start of World War 2 in Europe. The invasion began on September 1st 1939, this was one week after the passing of the Molotov- Ribbentrop Pact. After a few battles the Germans eventually succeeded the invasion of Poland.
