This is the oldest of the seven wonders of the world. It was built over a 10-20 year period. It is made of more than 2.3 million limestone blocks and was the tallest man made structure in the world. It was built to honour the Egyptian pharaoh at the time Khufu.

Irrigation Technology Discovered

1975 BCE

As a result of the royal tombs being moved to the North, Egyptians were forced to come up with other ways to carry water from the Nile to their crops. They developed innovative technology to transport water so they no longer had to live directly beside the river.

Alexander the Great

332 BCE

Alexander the Great and the Greeks conquer Egypt, and the city of Alexandria is founded. This resulted is a significant change in the Egyptian Empire.

Fall of Ancient Egypt

30 BCE

The last Egyptian Pharaoh dies, marking the end of the Empire.
