Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals was created by Janet Napolitano, formed Secretary of Homeland Security. DACA was created to protect undocumented immigrants who migrated to the US as children. Additionally, DACA offers immigrants who migrated prior to turning sixteen years of age, under the age of thirty one, and in school or finished with school, to apply for deferred action.

Activists are taking to social media to spread information about immigrants rights and how to help protect immigrants during this time of crisis. Protect the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States(PNFTEUS) was an executive order that was signed by President Donald Trump on 2017. This order stopped the immigration of people from 6, primarily Muslim countries: Chad, Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Somalia. On top of these 6 countries, the order also curtailed travel and immigration from North Korea and Venezuela.

Politicians and US citizens are rallying for the abolishing of ICE. ICE, a government agency that has become for many a symbol of the hate and violence spurred by the Trump administration, is now being called into question. Activist organizations such as "Abolish ICE" are actively trying to bring an end to the government agency responsible for the deportation of immigrants.
