The stamp act was passed by the British Parliament in 1765 on March 22nd. The stamp act was a tax on any printed paper that was used. The act applied to all American colonists. Colonists had no say in making tax laws because they did not have representatives in Parliament. In 1766 it was issued as the Declaratory act.

The Englishmen brought American in 1783,In the spring of 1763, the chief Pontiac of the Ottawa people wanted to decide to start a war between England. However, the chief got several tribes together, due to the treaty by moving into western Pennsylvania. However, in October 1763 king George iii issued the colonists of 1763.

The quartering act started in 1765 on March 24th. The Parliament allowed the red coats (British soldiers) to live in any of the colonist's homes. The colonists did not have a say if the soldiers were allowed in their homes or not. The colonists grew angry because it violated the Bill of rights. This caused a lot of problems in the state. The act was repealed in 1770 but was brought back as a punishment in 1774 in Massachusetts.

The sugar act that started in April 5th, 1764 was the act that raised taxes on imports of raw sugar and molasses. It was also a raise in tax for silk,wine,pimento, and indigo. This act allowed England to seize without due process. This act also circulated properties against it.

The Boston Massacre was when the Townshed act led a riot in the streets of boston. This led them to demand more protection in june 1768. Britain sent 4 new regiments, in 1770 on march 5th, it became something they called a “boil”. 3 people died, 2 later after, and 6 injured. This was then known as the “Boston Massacre”.

The Gaspee affair was a British customs schooner that had been enforcing the Navigation Acts. Also, It ran aground in shallow water while chasing the packet ship. Rhode Islanders boarded and sank the revenue cutter Gaspee in Narragansett Bay. The burning of the Gaspee happened on June 9, 1772.

The Boston tea party happened because no one wanted to pay taxes on the British tea and Mohawk Indians dumped crates of tea into Boston harbor as a protest against the Tea Act and its provisions for taxation of tea. Also, the Boston tea party was important because it increased the tension that the Americans and the British have already had.
