Louis XVI, King of France, arrived in the wrong historical place at the wrong time and was overwhelmed by events during his control. The price of bread and other food soared and people were not happy. Louis married a foreigner, the Austrian Marie Antoinette. The anger of the French people, targeted Marie as a prime source of their problems. On January 20, 1793, the National Convention condemned Louis XVI to death, and his execution was scheduled for the next day. King Louis XVI, refused to sign the Declaration of rights of man aand the citizen. In October of 1789, women of Parisian crowds, marched 12 miles to Versailles to confront Louis XVI. King Louis XVI was removed from Versailles and taken to Paris.
