Julia Carolyn McWilliams was born on August 15th 1912 to John McWilliams and Julia "Caro" Weston in Pasadena California.
She was the eldest of 3 children. One brother and one sister

Julia went to boarding school and played tennis, golf, and basketball. She did actually didn't have any interest in cooking while she was younger. She didn't actually actively learn to cook until she met her husband to be.

Julia went to college at Smith College in Massachusetts and worked as a copywriter for the advertising department at W. & J. Sloane

Julia enlisted as OSS typist after finding she was too tall to enlist as WACs or WAVES this is where she met her husband :)

Julia married her husband Paul in 1946 and they remained together until Paul passed in 1994.
Due to fertility issues the couple never got to have children but Ms.Chil commented that if she had had the chance she would have devoted her life to them.

Julia Child was one of the first chefs to have televised programs something that is done very commonly now. I dunno if you've ever heard of The Food Network.
Julia Child is commonly shown in films secondhand teaching fictional characters how to cook.
She was also featured on the (satirical) YouTube show Epic Rap Battles of History against Gordon Ramsay. Obviously this wasn't a serious thing bu it does show how pervasive her legacy is.
