The Gallipoli conflict took place in Turkey. it was a war brought on by the australians but resulted in turkey winning. Turkey won because they knew the australians were coming so they prepared by making their base higher up and by preparing to shoot australians as soon as they came to shore. The Gallipoli Conflict went for 9 months. The war ended because Australia retreated as they knew they would never win. it was a hopeless case.
