When the French decided to the same thing us Americans/Patriots did. They rebelled against their king and won, but unlike us they went straight to the king and behead him instead of just breaking away from him.

This all began when Congress decided to put whiskey taxes on America. Nobody wanted to pay for taxes for something they made themselves. Sadly Congress won this debate and enforced the law.

At the time French and the British were at war and everyone wanted to pick sides, but George Washington made the Neutrality Proclamation-without Congress' approval- which made it so nobody could pick sides. This resulted in everyone getting mad at him especially Thomas Jefferson (since he was Secretary of State).

Thanks to this treaty war that would've happen was avoided. British had to pay for the damages done to the American boats and leave their forts in the northwestern territory.

This was a huge battle between Native Americans and Americans about land-even the British was supplying the Native Americans with weapons and etc- and this would only been solved by a treaty and victory after 5 long years. This treaty give us claim to Native American land.
