God calls Jeremiah to be a prophet in the 13th year of Josiah's reign (Jer. 1:2). Jeremiah is about 29 years old.

Jeremiah Taken to Egypt

Jeremiah is taken to Egypt after Jerusalem's fall.

Josiah's Godly reign. He makes many reforms and sets the people back toward God. Josiah begins his reign at age 8.

Josiah Begins Reforms

Josiah begins reforms when he comes of age. He is about 22 years old when he begins reforms.

Jehoahaz's Reign

Jehoahaz reigns for just 3 months before being taken captive to Egypt.

Josiah's Death

Josiah dies in battle with Pharaoh Necho II of Egypt.

Jehoiakim's Reign

Jehoiakim's wicked reign.

Jehoiachin's Reign

Jehoiachin reigns a short time before being taken captive to Babylon.

Zedekiah's Reign

597 BC - 587 BC

Zedekiah is Jehoiachin's uncle and Jehoiakim's brother. He is appointed ruler of Judah when Jehoiachin is taken captive. Nebuchadrezzar has Zedekiah and his family killed when he tries to flee Jerusalem during the siege.


Assyria Loses Control of Judah

629 BC - 620 BC

Assyria's control of Judah as it's vassal weakens.

The Scrolls are Found

622 BC

The scrolls of the law of Moses are found in the temple.

Assyria Falls to Babylon

612 BC

Assyria falls when the Medes ally with Babylon.

Egypt Controls Judah

609 BC - 605 BC

Egypt briefly rules Judah until King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon defeats Pharaoh Necho in battle.

Nebuchadrezzar Starts Reign

Nebuchadrezzar starts his reign in Babylon. He defeats Egypt and takes control of Judah.
