Review what literature is available about the research question to gain better insight into the problem and assist in coming up with potential solutions. Compliment it with benchmarking as to how other successful hostels and small (of similar type) hotels use their digital presence to communicate their brand and set expectations. If possible emphasis will be put on competitors in the Netherlands, Flanders, and Ghent.
Create an appropriate and short survey for the hotel guests
Design a questionnaire for the type of visitors that come into a hostel of the type of Hostel 47 with variables that are relevant to the research
Part 1: Focus on collecting data from the guests of Hostel 47 at the location.
Best timing: Upon check in during the weekend and during weekend breakfast.
Part 2: Collect data from potential Hostel 47 guests.
How: Utilize my own network of fellow travelers / Utilize our Odisee and KU Leuven student groups to find people fitting the profile for the survey respondents
Part 3: Review and collect data from Hostel 47's social media and Booking.com profiles to identify what parts of it could be used
Part 4: Upon evaluating that not enough (or useful enough) data has been collected perform a third survey
Analyze the collected data, build appropriate graphs and tables. Draw a fitting conclusion based on it.
Based on the literature review, field research and data analysis finalize appropriate solutions to the problem. Complete in the desired timeframe.
Based on the feedback on the initial draft make the appropriate changes to accomodate the desired result.
Time spent for final proofreading, feedback from others, printing/submission, and final reflection window for any changes.
