We also submitted our health status review.
After weeks and weeks, Jamie and I submitted our PeaceCorps applications.
An email from our Twin Cities recruiter, Janice, has left us with news of a packet coming via USPS and many more addendums to fill out and return within the week.
I submitted my agricultural extension, community services, and education addendums as well as my reference verification form to our recruiter, two days before they were due!
We received our PC Packet which included a letter, two fingerprint cards, and a National Agency Check Questionnaire foe Peace Corps Volunteer Background Investigation. These items will be returned at the interview.
We learned that after August 15th, we will receive an email from the Peace Corps Medical Applicant Portal (MAP) inviting us to complete the Health History Form.
The new Medical Applicant Portal is launched and we are invited to respond to all questions completely and accurately.
I register for the new MAP system and answer all questions completely and accurately. No red flags!
We scheduled our interview for November 2nd, 2012. I am Super Excited.
Our interview has been confirmed. It is to be held at the Washington County Library- Oakdale Branch and will take "up to 3 hours".
Jamie and I were interviewed in Oakdale, Minnesota by our recruiter, Janice. The interview was nearly three hours and fifteen minutes long.
Meet with Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and one other applicant. We shared stories and ate great cultural dishes.
We were nominated for a program leaving in September 2013.
We celebrated the PC’s 52nd Birthday with supper at Café Aladdin with local RPCV’s and their families.
Jamie and I have been pre-medically cleared and our application has been sent to placement.
After calling PC HQ about our status I found out the medical office didn't forward my wife's medical pre-clearance and we have been officially delayed.
We received our first email from placement giving us a new departure date of April-June 2014.
Jamie and I have been legally pre cleared and have been given a week to submit our Education Placement Questionnaire.
Submitted the answers to Education Placement Questionnaire. Mine ended up being seven pages.
Updated resumes were requested of us. Since we knew this was coming, they were submitted the same day.
Placement notified us that they would be issued us an invitation tomorrow (Friday, August, 16th). Departing in June and teaching English.
Placement notified us that they would not be issuing us an invitation tomorrow (Friday, August, 16th). “I will not be able to issue your invitation tomorrow, and the timing of the assignment may change (but not any later than June).” They also informed us to check in at the end of next week.
I checked in with placement and they have request to utilize our skills according to what they originally stated- elementary education + secondary education. No official news, check in next week.
Checked in with Placement again, no news yet. They were going to check in with the powers that be.
Checked in with placement and received no response...I have a good feeling about this!
