Edgar Allen Poe - Born on January 19, 1809, Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A and died on the 7th of October 1848 in Baltimore Maryland, U.S.A. When Edgar Allen Poe's parents Eliza Poe and David Poe Jr died when he was only three John and Frances Allen took him in as a foster child. He had a brother called William Henry Leonard Poe and a sister called Rosalie Mackenzie Poe John Allen sent Edgar to the best boarding school and then sent him to the University of Virginia. 1827 he enlisted in the army and wrote one if his first poems Tamerlane. In 1845 Edgar Allen poe wrote one his well known poems The Raven. In 1829 he them moved in ith his aunt Maria Clemm and daughter Virginia in Baltimore Maryland, in 1836 he them married Virginia when she was only 14 at the time.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - Born 22nd of May, 1859 in Edinburgh, Scotland, and died on the 7th of July 1930, in Crowborough, England. Arthur Conan was well known for his 60 mysterious murder book series Sherlock Holmes. His father Charles Altamont Doyle and mother Mary (Nee Foley), as his family dispersed he and his 7 sisters and 1 brother were sent to a house in Edinburgh. He went to a Catholic prepatory school, when Arthur was nine he was sent too Jesuit preparatory school Hodder Place, Stonyhurst in Lancashire, he then went on to Stonyhurst College.

Agatha Christie - Born on the 15th of September 1890 in Torquay, Devon and died on the 12 January 1976, her spouse was Archibald Christie and had a child called Rosalind Hicks but he died in 1962, she soon then married Max Mallowan. In 1920 Agatha then published her very first book called The Mysterious Affair at Styles. Her father Frederick Alvah Miller and mother Clarissa Margaret Boehmer who encouraged her to write, she was the youngest of three and at a young age loved fantasy play and creating characters. Agatha is one of the most top selling authors and is well known for The Orient Express, Miss Marple and Poirot. Agatha Christie’s genre was murder mystery, thriller, crime fiction and detective stories.

Ian Fleming - Born 28th of May 1908 in Mayfair, London and died in 12th of August 1964 in Canterbury, England. He is well known for the James Bond books, first published in 1953. Mother Evelyn St. Cox Fleming and father Valentine Fleming, he has a brother Peter Fleming, and a sister Amaryllis Fleming. Ian attended Dunford school and went through physical hardship and bullying, he later enrolled in Eton College, his mother pulled him out of Eton and sent him too and enrolled him in at Royal Military College. He wrote about spies and agents including his James Bond series and his other well known book Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

P.D James - Born 3rd of August 1920, in Oxford, England and died on the 27th of November, 2014 in Oxford, England, Phyllis was an only child of mother Dorothy May James and father Sidney James. She married and had two kids with Ernest Connor Bantry White who was an army doctor but died in 1964. She went to Cambridge High School for Girls, she then had to leave as her family had no money and she had to start working and her father didn't believe that girls should have an education. Phyllis was well known for her detective novels and the first book that she wrote was called ‘Cover Her Face’ in 1962.

Stephen King - Born 21st of September, 1947 in Portland, Maine, U.S.A. When Stephen was 2 his father Donald Edwin King left his mother Nellie Ruth, his older brother David and him. As a child he witnessed his friend got struck, psychologists recon that's where he gets some of his darker works from. Stephen attended Durham Elementary School and graduated from Lisbon Falls High School. His inspiration for writing when he found a book in the attic that belonged to his father ‘The Lurker In the Shadows’, his first professional short story was ‘The Glass Floor’ in 1967, and first novel was ‘Carrie’ in 1974.

Kathy Reichs - Kathleen Joan Toelle, born on the 7th of July, 1948 in Chicago Illinois, U.S.A, her genre is crime and well known work ‘Break No Bones’ in 2009. She is the producer for bones which are inspired about her life, her first book ‘Deja Dead’ in 1997. She has three kids two girls, Courtney Reichs, Kerry Reichs, and a son Brendan Reichs, she is married to Paul Reichs. In her early life she earned her Bachelor of Arts and a degree in Anthology from American University. She had a very Catholic upbringing and was raised alongside her three sisters and father.

Kerry Greenwood - Born 17th of June 1954 in Footscray, Victoria, where she still lives today. She has written many books about historical, crime and science-fiction books, also children stories and plays. She attended Geelong Road State School and went to Maribyrnong College. She is well known for her Phryne Fisher books which are set in the historical genre, she wrote her first Phryne fisher book in 1989 called Cocaine Blues, all together she has 20 books in her Phryne fisher series. She is not married and has no children but has a partner called David Greagg and has two sisters and a younger brother.

Stieg Larsson - Born 15th of August, 1954 in Skelleftehamn, Sweden and died from a heart attack on the 9th of November 2004 in Stockholm, Sweden. His genre is crime fiction, thriller and is well known for his series Millennium crime novels including ‘The girl with The Dragon Tattoo’ and the third novel of the trilogy ‘The girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest’ which became the most sold book in 2010. He lived with his maternal grandparents for the first 9 years and went to school in the village as his father Erland Larsson and mother Viviane bostrom moved to Stockholm.

John Grisham Jr. - Born 8th of February 1955 in Jonesboro, Arkansas U.S.A too parents Wanda Skidmore Grisham and John Grisham and was the second out of five children, his family move around a lot for job opportunities due to his father. His book genre is legal thriller, crime fiction, baseball and football. He went to Northwest Mississippi Community College and attended Delta State University.
