Objective: Complete triple degree program

Strategies for achieving objective: To achieve graduate from this program at the University of Phoenix it is important to delegate time for school, family and social activities. Currently, to organize my schedule, I use a personal planner to outline all events and homework that need to be completed. Completing this program allows me to enter into the field with the necessary educational knowledge needed to lead a group of team members to advocate for my profession.

Objective: Continual professional knowledge

Strategies for achieving objective: To achieve this objective, it would be essential to do research on professional nursing organizations that lobby for the right of nurses within my state. I can also set up an appointment with my local legislation to discuss what health care lobbyist organizations impact their decisions with votes. Joining a lobbyist organization keeps me current in my field or specialty. Others want to network or enjoy the peer recognition that comes from being an active member of a major organization. I can also join the American Nurses Association.

Objective: Guidance into nurse lobbying

Strategies for achieving this objective: To gain a mentor it would be essential to evaluate my inner circle of individuals. Many individuals I know are in politics and this could be the connection needed to gain a mentor that has both a background in politics and healthcare. This entails that I make myself available for meetings, strategic community events and events that occur within the healthcare setting. Mentoring enables individuals to attain a body of knowledge and skills, learn techniques for networking and collaborations,
gain perspective on how disciplines operates politically and socially.

Objective: Gain professional experience:

Strategies to achieve objective: First, it would be essential to call around with professional organizations and see if they accept internships for nurses. If there are positions available it is important to take immediate action by sending a resume, cover letter with references. I can use my political connections to perform a mock interview and ensure I gain information as to the day of an intern at the organization. Additionally, internships help future team members to identify potential interests, gain experience in a new professional environment, network and make connections, gain the competitive edge and the potential to be marketable for future employment.

Objective: Nurse lobbyist position

Strategies to achieve objective: By accomplishing the above objectives, I will be able to get the position of a nurse lobbyist. Becoming a professional nurse lobbyist I am able to be in control of my professions destiny. Becoming a professional nursing lobbyist can lead to an increased awareness of nursing issues and support for collective actions among nurses. I am able to bright to light the concerns and trends that face the nursing profession. Networking a nurse lobbyist could open the doors for new connections with peers, mentors, and nursing leaders and activists.
