Egyptians first writing was made out of rows of pictures. These pictures are called hieroglyphics. Each picture stands for a sound or word. Some hieroglyphics are really complicated and take a long time to draw. The word paper comes from papyrus, a tall reed grown by the Nile River. Egyptians used the papyrus to make paper for written communication.
Kings and Queens ruled Egypt for over more than 2,000 years. In Egypt there were only three periods and the names are the Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom, and The New Kingdom.
Back then they would wear white clothes, but in the present they wouldn’t wear all white. In the past the girls would wear white dresses with jewelry. And in the present they would still wear dresses but not every day, like it wouldn’t be all white it would kinda be brown or even black. Then in the past the men would wear things that would kinda look like dresses but the top part would be cut a little. And in the present they would wear pants and shirts. So the past and the present is different in so many ways.
