Around 1200, a Mongol clan leader named Temujin (Gengis Khan) sought to unify the Mongols under his leadership.

Genghis Khan plans to invade Muslims

After invading the northern Jin Empire in 1211, however, his attention turned to the Islamic region west of Mongolia. Angered by the murder of Mongol traders and an ambas- sador at the hands of the Muslims, Genghis launched a campaign of terror across Central Asia.

Central Asia is under Mongol control

Genghis Khan dies

He died from illness.

Mongols divide empire

The people divide it into four parts. They called these parts khanates. Genghis khans included all of Mongolia and parts of persia

It failed. There was a huge typhoon that killed 53000 people

Kublai Khan dies

Kublai Khan died in 1294. After his death, the Yuan Dynasty began to fade.
