There are many restrictions to health care. Chinese immigrants come and they bring with them their diverse culture, health beliefs and practices which makes it difficult for U.S. healthcare providers to give them the proper care. Also, as non-U.S. citizens, they are ineligible for health and welfare benefits despite the fact that they immigrated legally. The process of providing healthcare services for elderly Chinese immigrants fall on local community, family and individual responsibilities. This is important because many Chinese immigrants develop negative mental health symptoms and without care, they would not be able to be treated properly.
