his nephew, Germanicus, served as general and was very good and honorable. Tiberius was jealous of Germanicus, had him poisoned. Tiberius put many to death and ended up being smothered by a head guard.

Caligula

37 AD - 41 AD

son of Germanicus; lost his parents at a young age and became cruel. After an illness, behaved erratically (fed horse at table, made romantic interludes to the moon)

41 AD - 54 AD

Caligula's uncle; half witted; reign tainted by poor relationships, unfaithful wives. Second wife Agrippa connived to shut out Claudius' son Britannicus as the next leader, and put her son Nero in place instead.
