It is unclear when the Carnegie Swim Centre opened as there are no recorded dates, however it is known to have opened some time during the 1960's
GESAC idea is born
In 2006 the Council launched a Discussion Paper on its aquatic recreation facilities. Several rounds of public consultation were held over 2006 and 2007 and the concept for the Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre was born.
GESAC designs released
Designs for the GESAC facility were released in early 2009
The Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre opens to the public
Carnegie Swim Centre sets record with over 21,000 visits
