New England Confederation

Military alliance between Plymouth, Massachusetts, New Haven, and Hartford to protect from Native American threat. Ended by colonial rivalries and English control.

New York Founded

Duke of York dispatches army that takes control of Dutch colony founded and leaded by Peter Stuyvesant. Consists of Hudson Valley and Manhattan area.

Connecticut Formed

New Haven and Hartford join to form the Connecticut colony

Bacon's Rebellion

1676 - 1677

Rebellion against governor of Virginia Sir William Berkeley. Bacon was upset about the 'backwood farmers' being ignored by government and not being protected from Indian attacks. He rebelled by murdering Indians and defeating forces sent to stop him. He then died of dysentery and the rebellion collapsed.
