New England Confederation

Military alliance between Plymouth, Massachusetts, New Haven, and Hartford to protect from Native American threat. Ended by colonial rivalries and English control.
New York Founded
Duke of York dispatches army that takes control of Dutch colony founded and leaded by Peter Stuyvesant. Consists of Hudson Valley and Manhattan area.
New Haven and Hartford join to form the Connecticut colony
South Carolina founded, becomes rice-based plantations.

Rebellion against governor of Virginia Sir William Berkeley. Bacon was upset about the 'backwood farmers' being ignored by government and not being protected from Indian attacks. He rebelled by murdering Indians and defeating forces sent to stop him. He then died of dysentery and the rebellion collapsed.
New Hampshire Formed
New Hampshire separates from the Massachusetts colony
Founded by William Penn as a haven for Quakers
Delaware formed from lower counties of Pennsylvania who were often neglected
North and South Carolina formed from original proprietorship due to differences
Founded as buffer between S. Carolina and Florida, and as a place to relieve overcrowded jails and indebted prisoners
