This is when Japan decided to bomb Pearl Harbor which was on U.S soil so than the U.S. decided to join the war. I think this was important because that was the second time the U.S. was forced to come out of its neutrality and fight in the war meaning more soldiers against the Axis power.

This is when the U.S. decided to get revenge for Pearl Harbor so they decided to bomb Japan. I think this was important because it helped boost the U.S. confidence and deflated Japan's ego.
Battle of Coral Sea
May 4, 1942
This was a battle at sea where the U.S. and Japan instead of using their boat as weapons used the boats to launch planes that were weapons. This was an important event because it stopped the Japanese from invading Australia and stop there southward expansion.

Headed by General Leslie Groves and chief scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer this top-secret project was designed to create the first atomic bomb. He then warned Japan to surrender or there gonna rain of ruin from above. This is important because now the U.S. has a deadly big damage weapon to use whenever you want.
Battle of Guadalcanal
Mac Arthur had heard that the Japanese were building a huge air base on the island of Guadalcanal. So he decided to attack quickly so he attacked and caught them off guard. I think this is important because they stopped the Japanese from growing more in power.
1945 - 1947
Mac Arthur brought the war criminals to trial, former premier Hideki Tojo and six others were condemned to hang. I think this is important because it showed how serious they were.
"Fat Man" Dropped in Nagasaki
August 9, 1945
2nd atomic bomb was dropped in Nagasaki, Japan. As a result the Japanese finally surrendered. I think this is important because it shows how far the U.S. would go and this event made Japan surrender.
