Children develop musical understanding through hands-on experiences—hearing, moving, reading, and playing. They develop the ability to concentrate discriminate, identify, and enjoy the relationship of sounds. They relate rhythm to large body movements, responding to patterns in songs and games. They learn to identify the symbols of music, approaching music reading as natural extension of the listening process. And they develop facility at the keyboard, coordinating and refining the areas of hearing, moving, and reading. All with smiles, songs, games, musical crafts, and positive experiences.
