Nicholas II was the last tsar of Russia under Romanov rule. His poor handling of Bloody Sunday. Russia’s role in World War I led to his abdication and execution.

Russia started the February Revolution. The February Revolution was the first of two revolutions that took place in Russia in 1917. This happened because Russians had lost faith in the leadership ability of the czarist regime.

Father Gapon started Bloody Sunday. Father Gapon organised a petition complaining about working conditions in the city and calling for change.the shooting of unarmed civilians by tsarist soldiers in St Petersburg in January 1905.
