Robert E. Lee was born on January 19, in 1807 he was born in Stratford Virginia, to Henry Lee III and Anne Hill Lee.
While Robert E. Lee was still in school his father past away in 1818 due to injuries in the Baltimore riot .
He was married on June the 30th to Mary Randolph Curtis of Arlington, in the Arlington House.
In 1838 he was made the Captain of Engineers at Fort Hamilton.
He served as military advisor to President Jefferson Davis until June 1862 when he was given command of the wounded General Joseph E. Johnston's embattled army on the Virginia peninsula.
On July 30 he fought in the war of Crater between the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia, commanded by Robert, and the Union Army of the Potomac, commanded by Maj. Gen. George.
In May 5th-6th Ulysses S Grant and Robert E Lee fought against each other in the Battle of the Wilderness.
On February 4th, 1867 Robert E Lee declined a spot as a candidate for the governorship of Virginia.
Robert E Lee was getting worst he had Pneumonia so he went to Georgia in hopes of getting better.
Robert E Lee died of Pneumonia on October 12th, 1870 in Lexington Virginia, he was sixty three years old.
