Its non-native population is at about 14,000

People from Hawaii, Oregon, and Latin America are the first to hear of the gold
In 1849, San Francisco went from a population of 500 to 150,000. the economy of California is growing fast and a lot of railroads and roads are being built.
California is fully integrated into the rest of the US. Without the Gold Rushes effect on Californias economy, this would've taken much longer.
A lot of people are migrated at this time and the Gold Rush peaked.
This was a much faster and efficient way to mine and brought a lot more money in, but it is very environmentally irresponsible.
Although around this time the Gold Rush came to an end, gold mining was still very prominent and Californias economy and the population were growing steadily.
