The first ever smart phone, the IBM Simon, was surprisingly made all the way back in 1994. The Simon could do tasks such as send e-mails, send and receive faxes, and had a full-on touchscreen. The Simon is very important to the evolution of phones because of how important smartphones are nowadays in people’s daily lives. One uses their smartphone multiple hours a day for multiple different purposes. Unlike non-smartphones, smartphones can do tasks such as browse the internet, calculate math equations, set reminders, and much more. It’s a lot more convenient to have it all on one little phone.
