The newspaper was first published in London on March 11, 1702 by Edward Mallet. The newspaper published 2 columns about news overseas. Before this newspaper people would publish pamphlets or news sheets to read the news from overseas. The Daily Courant was the first daily newspaper sold for profit. The purpose of the newspaper at the time was to bring news from across the world and publish it in articles for consumers to read, no local news was shared on this paper.

The first Radio was originally called the “Wireless Telegraph” it was built by Guglielmo Marconi in 1895. It was originally used for sending singles in moors code normally used in the army. The singles would be sent from ship-to-ship or from ship-to-shore. The radio has developed to a playing music and podcast available all day. The radio is a pillar in the development of long-distance communication.
Propaganda posters were an effort to persuade young men to sign up for the war due to low enrollment rates. The government would post the posters and adds in poorer parts of town, in order to pray on the venerable and people that were looking for a way out of there dets. Propaganda glorified and romanced the war, it normally had a misleading nature in order to not worry the people at home about what was really happening overseas. Propaganda really started to come in to play around the beginning of world war one but near the end of the war it died off due to the law of conscription.
teleivised news broadcast
The first ever television broadcast was hosted by Lowell Thomas in 1940. It was on NBC and could only be watched in New York City. Later it evolved to having daily news broadcast one at 2:30pm and the next at 7:30pm, These broadcast were pre filmed. The first ever live news broadcast came several years later in 1951 it was a broadcast of President Harry Truman 's speech at the Japanese Peace Treaty Conference.
Television on demand
Television on demand is TV being streamed or download to ones TV at home, also being able to watch any prerecorded show at any time. TVNZ was the first to offer TV on demand. By having TV on demand, one is able to stream, watch, and skip any show previously recorded, by doing this the consumers only has to watch the “important” parts or the part the consumer wants to watch. In other words, no more commercials. This revolutionized the way consumers watch TV, consumers no longer have to stay home to watch the big game they can go out and watch the recording later.

Podcast are an audio recording available for download and streaming on multiple devices. The original podcast was a service called audio blogging, it provided users with the ability to download and make episodes about news, sports, entrainment, and more. Audio blogging started in the year 2000 but in the year 2019 32% of Americans ages 25-54 listen to podcast monthly. The average podcast makes 3500/pre month. Podcast are a very effective way of getting news.

Facebook was the first social networking app offered to the greater public founded by Mark Zuckerberg in Menlo Park, California. Social networking lets one share news in real time. Facebook lets participants share information worldwide in seconds with hundreds of people. It is posable to have a conversation via Facebook chat rooms or make a post allowing the followers to like, share, and comment. Today there are over 2.26 billion on Facebook, almost 30% of the world’s population is on Facebook.

YouTube is a multimedia site that creators can share their original content with millions of users worldwide. YouTube started in 2005 originally being used as dating site set up by Chad Hurley and chads friends in San Mateo, CA but now YouTube uses it platform to share meaningful and informative information. Just over 8 years ago YouTube made it first ever live stream on the US presidential election. By social networking apps streaming live information that opens a whole new and effective way to share news fast.
News apps surfaced around January of 2014, now allowing consumers to accuses real and reliable news at their fingertips. News stations like global news, the New York times, and CNN all have apps that one can download on the app store. Thousands of stories just waiting to be reed at consumers discretion. News applications are the most effective way to gather and share information. One can sort through what they want to read and what they don’t, instead of having to watch a whole news broadcast just to get the score of the soccer game last night you can read an article just on the soccer game.
