Henri de tonti (AKA Henry de tonty) a European how settlement in the lower Mississippi river valley in 1686 it was called the Arkansas post. Henri is often called “father of Arkansas”,Henri was born around 1649 near Gaeta, Italy. Today the Arkansas post national memorial is in Arkansas county. Henri left Arkansas in 1687 but he returned several times in the 1690s. Henri didn’t return to Arkansas post after 1690s he returned to fort saint and learned that he had died of yellow fever in the early 1700s.

The Arkansas post was the first and most significant European establishment in Arkansas, in the colonial period from 1686 to 1821.the quapaw welcomed the post. On July 24, 1687 the la salle's brothers Henri joutel arrived at the Arkansas post. On May 10, 1749 French-chickasaw war the chickasaw chief/leader Pushmataha and his 150 warriors settled outside the Arkansas post. The French moved the Arkansas post down the Arkansas river about ten miles from the Mississippi river, and in 1763 after french lost the seven year war they gave half of Louisiana to British and gave the western of the Arkansas post to their ally Spain.

Nicolas Foucault was the first christian missionary to serve the quapaw Indians of Arkansas. Nicolas Foucault was born around 1667 in Paris,France on June 3,1688. He arrived in Québec and he began to serve as a secretary to Bishop. He was ordained to the priesthood on December 3, after June 16, 1700 his last entry in the Batiscan Registry. On March 13, 1702 Bergier suggested removing Nicolas Foucault since he was not established.

John Law's concession was established in August 1721, it was placed at little prairies over twenty-six miles away from the “mouth of the Arkansas river. Little Rock was used as a navigational point for the Arkansas river, and little rock was also called pulaski county, and the ouachita mountains are near to little rock [225 miles (360 km) east to west from little rock]. Jean- Baptiste bénard de la harpe (long name) was an early European explorer on april 9, benard de la harpe saw a small rock sticking out of the ground. And he picked up the small rock and he named it “le petit rocher” which means the little rock in French. That’s how little rock goes its name, on December 8,1883 a group of businessmen organized the little rock junction railway the company built the bridge the connected little rock to fort smith rail line.

The Mississippi river is the most important river in North America and it’s often called “Mighty Mississippi”, the river impacts phuman history such as osceola “Mississippi county) and Helena(phillips county). The Mississippi river is also important because the river is near the alluvial plain in Arkansas and the plains richest and most productive plants are rice, cotton, and soybeans. Many of the Native Americans groups live near the Mississippi river, and the ojibway Indians and northern Minnesota called the Mississippi river many ways like “messipi” or “ big river” but the river was also known to be called the “Mee-zee-see-bee” or “father of waters”.

The Cherokee tribes are one of the five civilized tribes, and the other four are the Chickasaw, Choctaw, creek,and the Seminole. The Cherokee inhabited a region in the western,” what is now western” north Carolina and parts of Virginia, Georgia, and eastern Tennessee. In 1780 the Cherokee tribes migration to Arkansas and they have to move away from Euro-American settlement because of the Revolutionary war.

William hume “rush” field sr. was elected in the state's first popular vote for the circuit court and he was known as a member of the democratic party. William hume “ rush” field sr. was born on July 10, 1796 in Brunswick, Virginia and he studied law at hampden-sydney College. In 1821 William lived in Pulaski, Tennessee and he married Mary Amanda Flournoy just four months after her 16 birthday. William arrived in Arkansas in 1842 to respond to financial woes in Tennessee.
