After a long war, America got its Independence from Britain. The Thirteen Colonies along with France won the war against Britain. Which then established the United States of America.
French Revolution
July 14, 1789
King Charles X wanted to strengthen his rule over France. People like the Parisians attempted to rally against his actions for they did not agree with them, but it did not change anything. Parisians then attacked Bastille. During this period, many aristocrats and royal family members were arrested and put into jail.
Opium War
1839 - 1842
China banned Opium from any trades. Despite this, Britain snuck it into their trades. When China found this, they closed many of their trading borders. Britain then attacked China, forcing them to reopen their borders.
American Civil War
April 12, 1861 - May 13, 1865
America was divided into the North and the South over slavery and modernization. They ended up fighting each other and it ended up with slaves being set free and the North being victorious.
Triple Alliance
1882
A secret alliance between Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy which included that the nations would fight for each other if Russia attacked in a war.
Great War
1914 - 1918
A war that took place throughout Europe. Around 58.8 casualties. It ended with Germany signing an armistice, which stopped all fighting. Then the Treaty of Versailles forbid Germany to build up their military, and to gain anymore land and made them pay for many of the damages.
Rise of Hitler
July 29, 1921
Hitler began to gain popularity, though his views were very controversial. He was then given the position of leader of the Nazi party.
The Great Depression
1929 - 1939
A crash in the stock market sent thousands out of work and starving. The economy then crashed since people could afford to have a shelter or food.
World War II
1937 - 1945
Hitler led Germany to war to avenge the Treaty of Versailles and the debt that it caused Germany.
NATO
1949
Also known as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, NATO was something set in place to guarantee the freedom and security of its members in terms of political and military injustices.
