The first electronic television was invented in 1927 by Philo Taylor Farnsworth. It was called a "TV" the first one ever after radios. He created the "TV" at the age of 21. He had no electricity in his house growing up until he was 14 years old.
1930 - 1939
1930 Television replaced radio as the dominant broadcast medium by the 1950s and took over home entertainment. 8,000 U.S. households had television.
1940 - 1945
In the 1940s, television started, stopped, started again and then took off. In the process, the new medium turned on the lives of rural residents.
1950 - 1955
The 1950s Television was the year TVs had color! This TV was a toy for thousands of people after the WWII.
1960 - 1970
Many television shows came out during this time.
1980 - 1985
This was known as the golden era for TV to the kids growing up.
1990 - 1995
In the 1990s, television was one of the fastest growing mediums. More TV shows were popping up than ever before, and ratings were always high.
2000 - 2005
2010 - 2015
This was the year they started making the TV longer and being able to hang on the wall. The called them flat screens or flat panels.
2017 - 2020
The screen is thinner and the image quality is much better. And the prices are more expensive for the TV's now.
