many computer and computer-like inventions can date all the way back to the 1800s, but a well renown invention was JV Atanasoff's. This invention would cause and unknowingly big breakthrough and advance in the technological future.
ENIAC was invented
1943 - 1946
The ENIAC machine was made by J. Eckert and John Mauchly. many consider the ENIAC to be the first digital computer.
First Laptop/ PC -701
The "portable" idea was the most amazing thing thus far. Being able to work on the go was a game changer. the 701 had an 8088 processor, and 16 KB of memory.
MIT had the debut Whirlwind machine, that was the initial computer that had magnetic core RAM and up to date graphics.
TX-O (Transistorized Experiemental)
This was the first transistorized computer. The computer was the best innovation thus far, and thrived continually and continued to be used by MIT.
Altair 8800- The First Personal Computer
Technically, this is not the first personal computer, but inventor Ed Roberts made the term. Interest grew quickly after it was featured on the cover of the January 1975 issues and was sold by mail.
Xerox Alto - First Workstation
invented by Charles Thacker, the Xerox computer was very efficient for its time, and the computer operated like todays computers, with a monitor, CPU, and mouse.
The first Apple computer
created by Steve Wozniak, the brand that everyone commonly knows, this was a desktop computer released by the Apple Computer Company.
The first PC clone
he "Compaq Portable" was release in March 1983 and was very compatible with IBM computers and software.

Tandy Radio Shack becomes one of the first out of the companies to make a computer that introduced the M2500 XL/2 and M4020 SX computers.
