I played some games on our Xbox, and they didn't have finnish as an option, so I had to learn some words.
Studying in school
Approx. 10 August 2008 - Approx. 1 June 2022
Had my first english classes but already knew alot of words and phrases, so it was easy to begin with.
Approx. 20 October 2011 - Approx. 15 June 2016
I read english books. Borrowed them from the library, because the teaching in school was too easy for me and I kinda digged it. Learned alot of new fancy words and phases in literature.
Approx. 17 January 2012 - Approx. 12 October 2016
I watched alot of series on my computer and I didn't use subtitles, or when I did, they were in english. I learned to understand alot of spoken english and slang and dialect. Also new phrases and humour!
Netflix and movies
I watch alot of series and movies in different languages and some movies don't have subtitles other than english. Also I'm getting better in understanding spoken english and accents! Like it alot.
Living and traveling abroad
I'll be traveling abroad and using english on everyday basis.
Teaching my second half
Teaching my man to use english in everyday situations - looking forward moving abroad. I might be pulling my hair unless he has a fire in his heart to actually learn - not just me trying to teach, but he wanting to learn.
Communicating with friends who live elsewhere on earth
Using english when chatting with new friends who live abroad. Learning (maybe not new but getting better at) communicating about life, family, work, moving abroad, welfare, systems, bureaucracy.... etc.
When my stepson is an adult, me and my second half are planning to move and work abroad, and then I'll be using english alot. Also learning more profession related communication practics at work.
