From September 3, 1939 to May 8, 1945 the battle fought in the Atlantic sea close to the coast of canada, The Germansfought with allies for the atlantic sea because if Germany took control it would make extremely hard for the allies to transport supplies and new troops, for some time germany was winning because of their u-boats but when they royal canadian air force came into play things change and germany surrender giving the allies the transportation path they needed to support the others overseas.

many French and British troops were holding on for what every they had left in the town of Dunkirk.Germany was undoubtedly successful during the fight, but the successful merical of the evacuation of Dunkirk proved an important moment in the allies efforts during the war, the evacuation became a rally and motivation throughout the rest of the war for many of the British citizens and soldiers.

The German army was thriving until the summer of 1941. Moscow was the capital of the Soviet Union (USSR) and the primary military and political place for the Axis forces. Hitler wanted to capture it, he was so close his troops could see it with binoculars. Until the cold, and rainy weather conditions intervened. Hitler’s army was not ready for the prepared winter battle they were going to fight. They lost and were pushed back preventing the capture of their capital. The battle of Moscow was one of the biggest battles in World War ll with more than a million casualties. People around the world realized that Hitler wasn’t invincible, and so fewer people respected him.

n the state of Hawaii on December 7th, 1941 Pearl Harbour was bombed by the Japanese air force. Japan wanted to scare America so they wouldn’t fight against Japan while they were invading China for oil. japan also wanted to have a chance to invade and neutralize America for oil as well as power, but it ended up being the main reason why America joined the war, because of this it gave the allies more power especially economically which shifted the war.

The battle of the Coral Sea was the first and one of the largest air-sea battles against the Japanese and USA, and Australia. At the end of it was an even draw but it was a turning point for the Allies. Both sides suffered big damages from each other’s carriers, so the Japanese didn’t have enough resources to cover the ground attack, resulting in a strategic Allied victory.
This was the first time they defeated the Japanese from further advancing. If the Japanese had won Port Moresby and Australia would have been invaded.

This battle is significant because it crushed Japan’s hopes of neutralizing the America because during this battle the American navy sunk all the Japanese aircraft carriers leaving japan defenceless, due to the fact they could not attack anymore the japanese had no choice but to leave the pacific.

This battle was the last way for Hitler to show their power to the Eastern Front. He did this to reply because of their defeat versing the Soviet Red Army in the Battle of Stalingrad. Hitler was so humiliated because it pushed Hitler’s army back into southern Russia and showed that his army wasn’t invincible, so Hitler planned a big attack to get rid of them. The German and Soviet army fought, which led to The Soviet Army winning. This ended Hitler’s grand plan of taking over Russia. The Battle of Kursk ended the reign of a dictatorship takeover and a big change in our country.

In the end, America won building a pathway for the invasion of Iwo Jima. This is important because the US needed to invade to fully defeat Japan in the war. Stopping them from doing large-scale carrier actions.

During this time the Philippines was under Japanese rule. The invasion of the Philippines because of Japan opposed to a threat to the US. America flew their 6th army to save them. In October 100,000 soldiers fought the Japanese giving them the statues of the bloodiest battle in the Pacific and created a wall ending Japanese successes. The Philippines and the US won and were now free.

During the battle of okinawa on Apr. 1, 1945 – Jun. 22, 1945 the American army and Japanese army were fighting over a very important land to the Japanese, the Americans end up winning the battle of Okinawa which in turn gave the allies a location where they were in striking distance of Japan. Even though they never advanced farther other than the atomic bomb it was a great victory and there were many iconic events that came out of this battle like corporal Desmond t.Doss who was a medic who fought with no weponds due to his beliefs.

Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki - (Aug. 6, 1945 – Aug. 9, 1945) The US detonated two nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The devastation led to Japan's surrender and brought an end to World War II. The weapon wiped out 90% of the city, killing 80,000 people and thousands more would later die of radiation exposure.
Fall of Berlin - After the death of Hitler Germany surrendered. It was a victory for the Soviet Union and the Allies. The battle took its toll on both sides, however. Around 81,000 Soviet Union soldiers were killed and another 280,000 were wounded and many protests were conducted.
