Stock Market crash of 1929 led to what is known as the Great Depression as a result of World War 1. President Hoover badly attempted to help the citizens during this time but it led to his demise as a President.
World War 2
1939 - 1945
After the invasion of Poland by Hitler, Germany declared war and WW2 started. Axis vs. Allies powers were fighting and U.S joined the fight after the Pearl Harbor bombing. The war offically ended after the surrender of Axis powers.
U.S attempt of remaining netural in WW2 came to an end after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, this attack on U.S soil was the key event in the country's entry to the war.
CIvil Rights Movements
1954 - Present
After the end of the World Wars, African Americans who were ready to serve their country, hoped to get better treatment and earn equal rights but it didn't happen. It wasn't until the threat of March on Washington that an Executive Order was passed to create a committee dedicated to helping the prevention of discrimination in the workplace.
Rodney King case
Rodney King, an African American led Los Angeles police on a high-speed chase that ended up deadly for King. After King was apprehended, white police officers were shown on video repeatedly beating King. The officers involved were acquitted from the crime which led to deadly race riots.
Black Lives Matter
2013 - Present
After many incidents involving police brutality with African Americans, including the Rodney King case. The Black lives matter movement was invented to hopefully create a better world for not only African Americans but everyone who has faced oppression and was delibrately targeted.
