By October the Lambing Flats where begging to become a well known and busy place as it was thought the area had been producing more gold than the other gold fields in NSW. About 1500 people where working there earning about 3 to 5 pence with the fear of lack of water in the area.
New Diggings at the lambing flats and wider attention

At the start of spring in 1860 the lambing flats had gained ever more population and attention due to the great masses of gold found. A large amount of Chinese had now come to the gold mines. New gold mine regulations soon to have taken place.
Increase in the yield of gold

As the lambing fields increased in population the lack of machinery in the fields gave men average earnings above the Victorian diggers.

European population on lambing flat have attacked a small party of Chinese, 2 Chinese men where killed from a brutal death from detaching the skin from the back of their heads and ripping their ears off.

A Chinamen has lost his life due to buffeting others where horrifically injured while others got piggy tails cut off
riot against the Chinese miners
3rd feb 1861
Multiple riots had broken out against the Chinese, leading many of the Chinese to leave, they where robbed of their supplies and tents where burnt down, many of the Chinese where badly injured and where forced to surrender.
Chinese move to Victorian gold fields
1st March 1861
Chinese soon became attracted to the Victorian golf mines and decided to move down their, multiple fights and agreements broke out due to the Chinese and other nationalities not getting along still. money and tax weren't in a good position at this moment as Chinese weren't making enough to send back to China.
