Fredrick Douglass was born into slavery in Feburary 1818 on the Eastern Shore of Maryland
Fredrick was sent out to Baltimore to be a body servant
He writes a book called the "Columbian Operator"
His owner sent him back to the Eastern Shore to work in the fields. He constantly rebelled, and plotted an unsucessful escape
published his first autobiography
Anna (the woman who helped him escape) had a stroke
He disguised as a sailor and boarded a train and went to new york with a free black woman he met, and declared himself free
Gave speeches, and sold narratives in England
