Boston Tea party: December 16, 1773 in 3 british ships, the tea party initiated because the colonists did not feel obligated to pay taxes on the britsh tea. They were frightened the british would take over america, and rule their country. They had the impression that the tea would put them out of business. This resulted in the colonists dumping 342 chests of tea in the harbor. Britain thought it was fair to make them pay because they were deeply in debt mainly for fighting wars for the sake of the colonists.
