Groups in and outside of france who opposed the french revolution and actively tried to change its course.
It goes with the rights of man, because they have the freedom to speak and do what they want freely as long as they are not breaking any laws.

Pledge signed by 576 of the 577 members from the Third Estate who were locked out of a meeting of the Estates-General. Made their own conference on a tennis court.

Creation Of National Convention

A new monarchy was formed since new changes and ideas were occurring.

After the small revolts leading up to the french revolution the people were afraid the king was going to set his army out and kill the people revolting.

Assembly saved France from a civil war and invasion, that it founded the system of public education, and created important institutions

Execution Of King Louis XVI

January 21 1793

After being found guilty by the national convention he was condemned to death and executed.

Goes against decleration of rights of man because he didnt do anything so they killed him for no real reason.

Reign of Terror

A period of violence provoked by the rival of political factions, 16594 people had been executed during this time

Napoleon's Rise To Power

December 2 1804

After rising through the ranks of the french military and then seizing political power in france, he crowned himself emperor.

Important Napoleonic Reforms

December 2 1804 - 1814

Overthrew the Directory, and set up the Consulate, made the Napoleonic Code. It included many Enlightenment ideas, such as religious freedom, equality of citizens, He also helped France by setting up many non-religious schools, because he believed in Education for all.
