Financial Crisis

1787 - 1789

France built up a debt from the Seven year's war and the American Revolution. Has nothing to do with the declaration of the rights of man and of the citizens

Counter Revolution

1789 - 1815

Groups from both inside and out of France were trying to change the course of the countries history. Freedom of Right liberty and the persuit of happiness

National Assembly

June 10, 1789 - June 17, 1789

They proceeded to vote and declare themselves the nation assembly. They assembled as not an estate but the of The People. Article 2 Life liberty and property.

Tennis Court Oath

June 20 ,1789

After being kicked out of the national assembly the third estate formed and wrote down what was soon to become the document that is know today as the “Declaration of the Rights of Man” Well it is about the declaration of Right's of man where it was written. Also, it would be freedom of speech.

Estates General

June 20, 1789

Was the assembly of the three estates to propose solutions to King Louis XVI's Government Financial Problems. Article 8 he was proven guilt and punished by death.

Storming Bastille

July 14 ,1789

Many of the people were afraid that foreign mercenaries would come and shut down the National Constituent Assembly. Paris would soon be consumed by riots and outbreaks of chaos and looting. Insurgents/normal people set their eyes on the weapons and ammo cache of Bastille fortress. This would follow security this was the people's way of securing themselves from the government.

Great Fear

July 17 ,1789

Peasants armed themselves and started attacking the government in their cities. This was because it was was believed that foreign forces were burning crops in fields in some areas.
Goes against Article 17

Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen

August 26, 1789 - Present

Was Written during the Tennis Court Oath and sighted what the 3rd estate wanted such as equal rights and voting rights, exc.
This supported by the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen because it is it.

Creation of National Convention

September 20, 1792 - October 26, 1795

Imperial and Prussians armies threatened to fight the french population if they were to resist their reinstatement of the monarchy. The the economy went bad ,Reign of Terror . The Nation convention subsequence got more legislation voting on sept 9th
Went against Article 2 conspiracy against the public liberty and the general safety.

Execution of LouisXVI

January 21, 1793

Executed at the Place de la Révolution for conspiracy against the public liberty and the general safety. Which is against the safety of the citizens

Reign of Terror

September 5 ,1793 - July 28 ,1794

20,000 People were killed of those were Noble clergy men and Royal's. The Reign of Terror was mostly started by Maximilian Robespierre. This goes against article 12 because they were not good for all

Napoleon’s Rise to Power

1799

Napoleon Was Born August 15th,1769 and died May 5th ,1821 He was the french military and political leader. First Emperor of France. This goes against that all men are equal because he has all the power to himself.

Invasion of Russia

June 24,1812

Also known as the Russian campaign. Napoleon decides to attack Russia in the middle of winter. On the way to Moscow Kutuzov and Napoleon met in a field and together there was a loss of 108,000 men and Napoleon later retreats back to France.
This goes against article 3 because Napoleon Kind of is the only one who decides to attack Russia.

Exile to Elba

April 20, 1814

Napoleon was Exiled to Elba where there was a population 12,000 and Napoleon was allowed to reclaim his title of emperor over those people. When his wife and son when off to Austria. This isn't on the Rights of Men and of the Citizen but it does go against that only one person my have complete power even if it's over just that island.

Congress of Vienna

September 1814 - June 1815

Was a conference of ambassadors of European states and was to solve the problems that had come from the French Revolution. Goes with the Right that you have free will do anything.

Battle of Waterloo

June 18, 1815

Was a battle in present day Belgium. That was between Great Britain and France. The defeat here ended the Napoleon’s Rule and ended his hundred day return from exile. Do not know how this apply's to the Rights of Men and the CItizens
