Missouri Compromise

1820 - 1857

started for the pro-slavery and anti-slavery ideas. Some people wanted it to keep happening and some people were against slavery.

The Abolitionist Movement

1830 - 1865

Was the effort to end slavery, that valued the saying "that all men are created equal".

The Mexican-American War

1848 - 1849

Was the fight between the fight of anti-slavery because some people wanted slavery and some people did not want slavery.

The Fugitive Slave Act

1850 - 1865

acts of the 1850 compromise and heightened Northern fears of a "slave power conspiracy".

Uncle Tom's Cabin

1852 - 1853

this was based of a slave who secretly learned how to read and she wrote a book that was called "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and she wrote about how her owner was.

The Republican Party

1854 - 2013

The Republican Party is a presidential branch that tells whether a person or president is running for Democrat and or Republican Party

The Kansas-Nebraska Act

1854 - 1861

It created the territories of Kansas, and Nebraska, and they would allow slavery through every territory. People who lived in these territory's that did not like slavery who either have to deal with slavery or they would have to move to another territory that slavery was not allowed.
