  • de-regulated the economy
  • made significant changes in Aboriginal land rights (handing back Uluru)
  • Gave Australia a higher profile role in international affairs
  • He was the longest serving Labour PM
  • Third longest leader in Australia

Paul Keating

1991 - 1996
  • He was Hawkes treasurer
  • He pushed for Australian republic
  • Reconciliation with Aboriginal people

John Howard

1996 - 2007
  • 2nd longest serving PM
  • Keating didn't like Howard
  • Remembered for the gun laws introduced
  • & the introduction of the GST

Kevin Rudd

2007 - 2010
  • Rudd was popular (KEVIN07)
  • He comes in a agenda of reform
  • He pushes climate change, the establishment a national broadband network and improved education and health
  • He introduced mining tax but people didn't like it
  • He lost ability to be decisive and got side tracked which made him unpopular
